As this project seems abandoned, does anyone know a fork which is still maintained?

As per title, there are several critical issues and no updates in a long time, with the rise of AI finding a lot more security issues, I cannot afford to use a library which is not maintained. Does anyone know a fork which is well maintained? I don't mind paying monthly a few bucks
